But too often we are overlooked as only “charity” and not job creators, social enterprises, and strong collaboration partners. As America considers its economic future, it’s time for both businesses and governments to acknowledge that what our nation’s 1.4 million charities produce is anything but “non” profit.
Join Robert Egger as he leads a dynamic discussion about how, as a united force, nonprofits can take the lead in rebuilding our nation’s economy. Egger is president and founder of DC Central Kitchen and CForward. His talk is part of the opening plenary session of the 13th Annual Axelson Center Symposium for Nonprofit Professionals and Volunteers.
During the closing plenary session, Aaron Hurst, president and founder of Taproot Foundation, speaks on “Management Strategies that Move Mountains.” Nonprofits increasingly have less money and must do more to fulfill their missions and meet the needs of their communities. And too often, we lack the capital and staff resources necessary to implement new innovations that could save us time and multiply our impact.
