So yesterday a certain public radio personality may or may not have alluded to Cook County Board meetings being boring. Little did that person know, however, about one of the items that came up for debate. The commissioners’ debate on decriminalizing marijuana got us in the newsroom conducting our own debate: which PSA announcement from the days of the war on drugs is better for linking on the blog? Kid arguing with his father, or Ninja Turtles? Onward to the day’s news: Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s attorneys are scheduled to be back in court today for a status hearing. Although, one of his attorneys is looking to be taken off the case. There’s another meeting looking into the admissions process at the University of Illinois. The dean of the business school is expected to testify. And we’ll have details on a new green jobs initiative Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is unveiling today.
