Spend any time with me and you discover I’m pretty midwestern in my culinary tastes - meat and potatoes, greasy spoons, with a big splash of Southern homecooking.‚  In fact, most of the more adventurous eating I’ve done in my life has been associated with dating women more worldly than myself. Which is why I’m completely geeked about the upcoming Global Activism Expo.‚  In addition to the 84 activist groups displaying material on how to make the planet a bit less horrible, the spectacular beer supplied by Goose Island Brewery (with proceeds going to our favorite public radio station), and incredible international music and spoken word curated by Lethal Poetry, there will be a variety of local restaurants selling dishes of international cuisine for low prices. Included thus far are: Cafƒ© Marbella — Spanish Tapas - http://www.cafemarbella.com/ Blue Sky Bakery & Cafƒ© — Baked Goods - http://blueskyinn.org/ Arya Bhavan — Vegetarian Indian - http://www.aryabhavan.com/ Semiramis — Lebanese - http://www.semiramisrestaurant.com/ Ras Dashen — Ethiopian - http://www.rasdashenchicago.com/menu.php So come with your appetites, a couple of bucks and a thirst for knowledge.‚  I’ll be the one with Doro Wat on my WBEZ shirt… Saturday, April 17th UIC Forum
