This week on Radio M, Chicago Reader music writer Peter Margasak joins me for Radio M’s monthly segment, “Peter’s Picks.” Peter stops by the third Friday of every month to talk about and play cuts from some of the many world music releases crossing his desk.

Also in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, music from Chicago band Anish, recorded at Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens, as well as music from Black 47, Solas, Black Irish Band and other traditional and contemporary Irish sounds, including an Irish band that played at big rock festivals here in the 1970s.

Plus, tunes by a few bands from around the globe that are taking part in this year’s South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival.
