Afternoon Shift

Tuesday's game plan for 'Afternoon Shift': Changing reality

On Tuesday's Afternoon Shift we talk about a few well established traditions that are changing before our eyes.

First we focus on retirement. What once seemed a certain reward for a long and dedicated career isn't as certain anymore. We talk about how things are changing.

Then we look at political engagement. The traditional understanding of grassroots politics includes knocking on doors, phonebanking and posting yard signs. A new study has found that young people are finding new ways of engaging politically through social media. We about the study's implications in our second hour.

Finally, we talk with Chicago attorney David Ellis about his seventh novel, The Wrong Man.
