West Chicago residents will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Environmental Protection Agency officials to voice concerns about contamination.

The EPA is holding scheduled interviews with people who live near the site of the former Kerr-McGee factory. The EPA says the factory spread thorium, known to cause cancer, throughout West Chicago.

Kathy Bentham plans to attend an interview session. When she bought her home 14 years ago she had no idea that her land might be contaminated. 

BENTHAM: They verbally tell us there is no contamination on our property but we would like to have something in writing so that if one day we have to sell our home we can prove to the next people that they say our property is clean.

The area has undergone two clean ups but the EPA is re-testing some homes to determine whether there is any residual contamination.
