Organizers in Chinatown are working hard to keep up voter enthusiasm among Chinese-Americans in Chicago.

Voter turnout among Asian-Americans is generally quite low, but Chinese-Americans showed up at the polls in unprecedented numbers last March to vote for one of their own, Theresa Mah, a Democratic candidate for Illinois’s 2nd House district. Now, Mah is unchallenged in the general election and some community leaders worry that voters won’t bother to cast ballots as a result.
