Despite concerns about accountability, the Obama administration has authorized as many drone attacks in his first nine months in office as did George W. Bush in his last three years as president. According to P.W. Singer —a Brookings Institution defense analyst—this is no coincidence. In his new book, Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century, Singer says a revolution in robotics is underway. This revolution is changing the way war is waged and raising thorny ethical issues. Although the technology is in its infancy, he argues it is already having a dramatic impact on 21st century warfare.
