This week on Radio M; the Featured Album. This time out it’s the latest from multi-instrumentalist Shawn Lee and his Ping Pong Orchestra. Although he lists ‘orchestra’, Lee is typically a one man band who releases mostly instrumental music. World of Funk provides vocals from guest artists and the sound is inspired by sounds from around the globe. Here’s what Lee says about the musical melting pot: “When we bastardize each other’s sounds/ music and get it wrong - we get it so right. It mutates and becomes something extraordinary. Now that is funky!”

World of Funk this week. Also music from Eritrea, Colombia, Pakistan, and Thailand. What, no music from Brazil? We’ll just have to wait for Peter Margasak on that.
