It’s been two years since a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, killing at least 300,000 and displacing 1.5 million. Progress to rebuild has been slow. Haitian economist Ludovic Comeau helps us take stock of the reconstruction and rebuilding efforts of the past two years. And on Global Activism, Haitian-American Dr. Mildred Olivier tells us about the work she’s been doing to provide eye care for patients in Haiti. Currently, there are only 45 trained ophthalmologists in the entire country. A member of the American Academy of Opthalmology’s Haiti task force, Dr. Olivier hopes that one day she’ll be able to build an eye care center in all nine departments of Haiti. She tells Worldview how she plans to do it
