Mechanics at more than 130 car dealerships in the Chicago area are on strike today. Negotiations are at a standstill between the union representing dealership mechanics and the New Car Dealership Committee. The union wants better benefits and hours to attract new talent. The Chicago Automobile Trade Association expects the work-stop to be a minor inconvenience to car owners.
