Chicagoans To Pay Extra $58M Over Next 4 Years To Cover City Worker Salaries

The city of Chicago is outlining the cost of a tentative 5-year contract agreement with 31 unions representing more than 7,000 city employees. The deal will increase salary costs for about 20 percent of the city’s employees by $58 million by 2022. It includes 2 percent raises, but also requires workers to pay more toward health care.
