Democrat Chris Kennedy has selected his running mate in his campaign for Illinois governor. His choice: Ra Joy. Joy is not new to politics. He’s headed up a good government group that attempted to change how legislative districts are drawn in Illinois. The State Supreme Court struck it down. 

Earlier this year, Joy’s son was shot and killed in Chicago. Kennedy’s father, Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated, and Joy says Kennedy’s campaign was on his list because of Kennedy’s own family history with losing a loved one.
