Part-time faculty at Columbia College Chicago are voting Wednesday afternoon on whether to strike. Union representatives are accusing the administration of trying to break up their union, and putting profit before students’ education. They’re in the middle of contract negotiations to replace the contract that expired in August. A spokesperson for the college says the administration is open to continuing those negotiations, and denies the union’s accusations. Union members are voting on whether to go on a two-day strike that would start next Wednesday.
