When Amazon announces the location of its second corporate headquarters, Illinois will likely be immersed in a heated gubernatorial campaign. 

The next governor won’t be the one who signs off on a package of incentives for the tech company, but they will live with the long-term financial benefits – or consequences – if Illinois wins the multi-state Amazon sweepstakes. 

WBEZ state politics reporter Dave McKinney has been reaching out to the field of declared gubernatorial candidates to gauge their thoughts about what should and should not go into any taxpayer-subsidized deal.
