Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin visited a Chicago high school military academy Monday to push for immigration reform. With the ending of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, Senator Durbin is urging Congress to pass the Dream Act. It offers a path to citizenship for certain undocumented immigrants who arrived as children. Speaking at Phoenix Military Academy on the city’s West Side, Durbin says military service could be one avenue toward citizenship. But he insists a border wall will not be part of any immigration agreement.
