Some Chicago Aldermen Say City ID Program Could Lead To Voter Fraud
Some aldermen say they don’t like that Chicago residents will be able to use new city ID cards to register to vote. The cards are meant to be a low-barrier form of government-issued ID, and will be available to Chicago residents in April. 17th Ward Alderman David Moore says he worries that unscrupulous political operatives in immigrant communities will use the ID cards to register non-citizens to vote. City election officials say this type of voter fraud is rare because it could lead to deportation.
