State Officials: Trump’s Changes To Affordable Care Act Will Not Affect Prices Of 2018 Illinois ACA Plans

President Trump is ending an Affordable Care Act subsidy provided by the federal government to insurance companies, meant to offset costs for low income people. But that won’t affect the cost of Illinois marketplace plans. 

State officials say they were prepared for Trump’s move, and plans that go on sale Nov. 1 for 2018 are locked in. But, if Congress doesn’t reinstate the subsidies, costs could go up across the board in 2019.
