Many Chicagoans took a break Monday afternoon to watch the solar eclipse. A spokesperson at Adler Planetarium says the museum passed out 30,000 pairs of glasses MOnday morning. People were packed into the parking lot and lawn around the planetarium, right down to 12th Street Beach. Chicago was not in the path of totality, so the moon did not completely cover the sun. According to NASA, the next solar eclipse will be in seven years.
