Avi Issacharoff gives Israeli perspective on recent violence in Israel

Tensions are high in Jerusalem and other Israeli cities, following a series of attacks on Israeli Jews that have had some questioning whether we are seeing the beginning of a third intifada. But many Palestinians have also been killed in recent weeks by Israeli police and security forces. The UN has called for an investigation into the deaths of four Palestinians, including a 13 year old boy who was killed during a recent clash with Israeli security forces. Israel has blamed the Palestinian leadership for inciting the attacks, saying it has stoked rumors that Israel planned to expand Jewish rights on the Temple Mount, or Al-Aqsa mosque. Israel issued a statement saying it did not intend to change the current agreement, which is that Muslims pray on the Temple Mount; non-Muslims visit the Temple Mount. We’ll discuss the recent violence and the ongoing conflict with Avi Issacharoff, an analyst with the Times of Israel. (PHIOTO by Alex de Carvalho)
