Catalonia votes in favor of independence in symbolic poll

A referendum in Catalonia on Sunday allowed voters to decide whether or not they wanted to separate from Spain. They voted overwhelmingly in favor of independence. But unlike the recent vote in Scotland, Sunday’s independence vote was unofficial and non-binding. The Spanish Constitutional Court had ordered the official referendum be stopped and the government of Spain considered Sunday’s vote illegal. We’ll talk about the implications of the vote with Alan Clendenning, the AP Madrid Bureau Chief.
