EcoMyths-Global Warming and Marmots

Climate Change is affecting sleep. Maybe not yours, but certainly the hibernation patterns of certain wildlife, like marmots. They’re a species of large rodents in the squirrel family, such as groundhogs. For our EcoMyths segment, Kate Sackman of EcoMyths Alliance and Jerome McDonnell, talk about how marmots sleep these days with Steven Sullivan, senior curator of urban ecology at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Sullivan also leads the Project Squirrel Citizen Science Program. And with Daniel Blumstein, professor and chair of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA. Blumstein also leads the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab Marmot Project. (photo: "Marmota marmota Alpes2" by François Trazzi)
