Global Activism: Exhibit sheds light on struggles of Mexico's farm workers

Reporter Richard Marosi and photographer Don Bartletti of Los Angeles Times trailed thousands of laborers on Mexico's mega-farms. They discovered brutal, inhumane conditions within the industry that supplies Americans much of their produce. We spoke with Marosi last year on the report. Today, we’ll get an update from Bartletti and hear about his new exhibit at Artworks Projects for Human Rights called “Product of Mexico”. It shows the lives and struggles of farm workers in Mexico. We’ll also talk with Leslie Thomas of Artworks Projects. They’ll tell us about farm workers in Mexico who are “trapped for months at a time in rat-infested camps, often without beds and sometimes without functioning toilets or a reliable water supply”.
