Global Notes: Permeable Borders, Latin Music At SXSW 2016

Austin, Texas surrendered once again to the music as more than 2,000 acts performed at the South by Southwest music festival. Although the festival gained renown as an event showcasing indie music, it's recently extended its brand to become an important platform for international music and in particular, music from Latin America, Spain, and the U.S. through its SXAmericas events.

This year, for the first time in the 30 years of SXSW included a showcase of music directly from Cuba.

On this week’s Global Notes, Tony Sarabia, host of The Morning Shift on WBEZ, and Catalina Maria Johnson, host and producer of Beat Latino on Vocalo, visit Worldview to share some of the best musical moments from SXSW 2016.
