Global Notes: Singer Renata Flores reviving Quechua language

You may not be able to pronounce this song title- Chaynatam ruwanki cuyanaita- but you’d probably be able to hum along with its familiar melody line. The song is Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” and in this version, it’s sung in the ancient Incan language known as Quechuan by a 14 year old Peruvian girl. On this week’s Global Notes, Tony Sarabia brings us the story of Renata Flores’ efforts to revive the language among Peru’s youth through song.
