Nigeria Says It Has Wounded Boko Haram Leader As Kerry Calls For End To Corruption

This week the Nigerian military announced it had wounded the leader of Boko Haram. 

Despite some success at gaining back territory in the country’s northeast, terror attacks have not subsided. There is also a growing humanitarian crisis in the area, with food production devastated and 1.8 million people displaced.

John Kerry was in Nigeria this week to discuss the government’s counterterrorism strategies. We talk about Boko Haram and Kerry’s visit with Richard Joseph, a professor of international history and politics at Northwestern University, a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution and a research affiliate of the Buffett Center.
