Naperville Summit Tackles Barriers To International Aid, Development

The Rotary Club of Naperville is hosting the International Service Summit, an event that brings together philanthropic organizations to connect manpower, resources, and knowledge.

Held Feb. 10 in Naperville, the summit encourages members to share knowledge about best practices and the challenges of working in specific countries. The summit welcomes groups dedicated to improving worldwide education and literacy, safe water and sanitation, medical equipment, disease prevention, and community development.

Foreign correspondent and acclaimed author Atia Abawi will be a keynote speaker at the summit. She will discuss her book, A Land of Permanent Goodbyes, about a Syrian refugee family's journey to Germany.

Summit co-chairs Uda Potgieter and Chuck Newman with the Rotary Club of Naperville join us to discuss the event’s mission to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of international projects.
