Pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong continue

Pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong have not ended, despite the fact that several protest leaders turned themselves into police. Protesters want Beijing to back down on its requirement for candidates in 2017 to be pre-approved. The U.S. has voiced its support for free elections. Recent protests have turned into violent skirmishes. Beijing has given ultimatums for the protests to cease. We’ll talk about the rising tensions with Wen Huang, the author of The Little Red Guard and A Death in the Lucky Holiday Hotel: Murder, Money and an Epic Power Struggle in China.
