Protester Cries at EPA’s Chicago Hearing to Repeal Obama’s Clean Energy Plan
On Monday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) held a hearing in Chicago about its new energy plan that sets out to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from coal-powered plants. This was the only public EPA meeting since President Trump took office. Protesters wearing shirts that read, “Stop killing us” gathered outside of the Oct. 1 meeting demanding the EPA hold businesses accountable for carbon pollution, regardless of President Trump’s plans to weaken emissions standards. George Goehl, director of People's Action, a national coalition of poor and working-class people, joins Worldview to discuss.
