Romanians protest planned gold mining project, would be Europe's largest gold mine
Romanians in Bucharest and in cities around the globe have taken to the streets to protest a Canadian company's plan to build a gold mine in the village of Rosia Montana. The mine would be Europe's largest gold mine. Supporters say it would bring much needed jobs to the area, but many fear the environmental impact could be devastating. Marian Petruta, president of the North American Romanian Press Association, explains the controversy surrounding the mine.
