It has been nearly a year since Pakistani journalist Zeenat Shahzadi disappeared. She’s the first female journalist to have been, what many believe was “forcibly disappeared.”

Her family as well as human rights activists have pointed fingers at Pakistan’s security agencies. Before she disappeared, she’d been working on a story about an Indian citizen who had gone missing in Pakistan.

Aqil Shah, professor of South Asian Studies at the University of Oklahoma and author of The Army and Democracy: Military Politics in Pakistan, joins us to discuss the case.
