The Summer Olympics in Rio are just weeks away. Every few years, cities from all over the world compete for the honor of having the Olympics in their backyard. Chicago actually competed to host this summer’s Games but didn’t win the bid.

More recently, cities are backing out of bids, caving to residents who worry the games will bring their city nothing but crime and debt. So, is it worth it?
