For decades, as part of the European Union, the United Kingdom participated in multinational treaties. Many of those treaties concerned fighting climate change.

Now, a year after the “Brexit” vote and efforts to leave the EU and its treaties, the county’s commitments to the environment need to be re-affirmed. UK Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, named career diplomat Nick Bridge to represent the UK in climate negotiations. Bridge is in Chicago to learn about Midwest efforts to counter climate change. He joins us to discuss the UK’s climate strategy since Brexit.
