Imagine this: It’s a hot summer day and you have your beach bag packed with sunscreen, beach towels, lunch, and your favorite sunglasses. Lake Michigan is calling your name, but have you thought through what to do if an emergency strikes when you’re in or on the water?
Since 2010, there have been approximately 640 drownings in the Great Lakes, many of them coming in Lake Michigan. So far this year, 17 people have drowned, including five in Lake Michigan.
