White Sox Win Both Weekend Games in World Series

The Chicago White Sox are halfway to their first World Series title in 88 years.

Scott Podsednik is the toast of Chicago today. It was his dramatic ninth-inning home run that gave the Chicago White Sox a 7-to-6 win over Houston and a two games to none lead in the World Series. Eleven of the last 12 teams holding a 2-0 edge have gone on to win the Fall Classic.

Paul Konerko’s grand slam in the seventh inning had given White Sox a 6-to-4 lead. But Houston tied it on pinch-hitter Jose Vizcaino’s opposite-field single with two out. The series resumes Tuesday night in Houston.
