Chicagoans Protest Alito Nomination

About 150 people rallied in downtown Chicago Tuesday to protest Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito.

Leaders from Planned Parenthood, a labor union, and an anti-gun group called on Illinois’ U.S. senators to reject Alito.

Gen Potter attended the protest on her lunch break.

“It’s pretty clear that if we want to protect our rights in this country, our civil rights, the rights of the majority, the rights of women, that we need to do everything we can to oppose the nomination,” she says.

Potter says she’s especially concerned that Alito would reverse Roe versus Wade.

Samuel Alito continues to tesitify before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday.
