High School Students Meet the Candidates

“Candidates for Illinois and Cook County offices this past weekend took their messages to one vocal constituency. These citizens don’t have deep pockets, and many aren’t even eligible to vote.

They’re local high school students and part of a non-partisan civics education program called the Mikva Challenge. Students at the group’s 7th annual forum were able to question several candidates. Many of the kids were enthralled by the political process, if not by all the candidates.
