Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says Cook County Board President John Stroger and his family shouldn’t be pressured into answering questions about his political future.
Stroger suffered a massive stroke almost 3 months ago, and has not been seen in public since.
Daley addressed the issue at a senior citizen’s center on Chicago’s South Side.
“Let’s give a little time in regards to this,” Daley said.
“I think that’s what the issue’s all about. I know a lot of you - the press - would like to bury him, but he’s gonna be alive and well.”
Daley added that he personally has no role to play in any decision about Stroger’s future.
