Governor Putting Distance Between Himself and Fundraiser

Federal prosecutors yesterday unsealed charges against one of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s top fundraisers.

Tony Rezko is charged with loan fraud and with conspiring to run a kickback scheme that swapped state business for payoffs.

The governor is distancing himself from Rezko and the allegations.

But the indictment reaches deeper into Blagojevich’s inner circle than any others to date.
