Local Bank Has Unique Focus

A bank on Chicago’s South Side took a personal interest in the Bangladeshi banker who won the Nobel Peace Prize this year.

Some executives at ShoreBank were consultants to Muhammad Yunus.

They helped advise Yunus on how to profitably run a bank that loans money to the poor.

They were uniquely qualified to do so.

Because they’ve run a bank with an unusual bottom line: earnings, community development and environmental conservation.
