One Score, One Chicago

Cesaria Evora, the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and the Mendelssohn String Quartet are just a few of the artists making their way to the Ravinia stage this season.

And then there’s the One Score, One Chicago selection.

The program aims to introduce classical and new works to broader audiences.

It will place the spotlight this year on “The Mermaid” by composer Alexander Zemlinsky.

We recently asked Ravinia President and CEO Welz Kaufmann to join us in our performance studio for a sample of what’s to come in the One Score, One Chicago program.

He says there’s one way to describe the man behind “The Mermaid.”
