Protestors marched through downtown Chicago today criticizing China’s policies towards Tibet. The march coincides with protests in San Francisco, where the Olympic torch is making its only North American stop on its way to Beijing.
Chanting... No Olympics... In China... They need to free Tibet... totally... .
The march ended at the Chinese Consulate near the loop. A spokesman for the Consulate says they’re concerned that protests here and overseas will tarnish the Beijing Olympics. But he says independence for Tibet is out of the question.
