Chicago Mayor Richard Daley Tuesday called on state leaders to allocate more money in the state budget for Chicago’s schools and summer jobs programs. The mayor also pushed for a capital funding bill that will provide construction money for schools and the Chicago Transit Authority. The mayor took questions from reporters on the budget, a legislative pay raise, Governor George Ryan, the Great Lakes Compact and other issues.
