New Arson Investigation Policy After Firefighter's Shooting

Chicago’s Fire Commissioner has instituted a new policy after a firefighter was shot yesterday while on the job.

Commissioner Raymond Orozco says arson investigators won’t work alone anymore. Instead they’ll go out in pairs. Orozco made the change yesterday after an on-duty firefighter was shot in the ribs while investigating a possible arson on the South Side. Donald Kox’s wounds aren’t life threatening. Orozco says it’s the first time a firefighter has been shot and wounded in about 30 years.
