Chicago Group Wants Changes to Bailout Plan

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is testifying before Congress today about a proposed $700 billion bailout of the country’s financial markets.

In Chicago, about 20 members of a community group called for the plan to include relief for struggling homeowners.

Denise Dixon is the executive director of Action Now, a Chicago non-profit.
DIXON: We are in a crisis here in America. And the crisis is not just on Wall Street. It is also on Main street. We want to make sure those working families of America get the bailout that they deserve

Dixon’s group held a small demonstration outside the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Some members of Congress are also calling for the bailout plan to include homeowners.
