Prosecutors Had 5 Hour Interview With Terror Suspect Tahawwur Hussain Rana

An accused terrorist talked to federal authorities in Chicago for five hours after his arrest in mid-October.

Prosecutors referenced the interview at Tahawwur Rans’s bond hearing today. They say it shows a series of evolving answers including one in which Rana said he was thinking of expanding his meat business by opening a goat farm in Denmark.

Rana is charged with helping plan an attack on a Danish newspaper that printed cartoons of the prophet Muhammad. Rana’s defense attorney says the interview shows his client denied terror charges right from the beginning.

Judge Nan Nolan says she wants to see a DVD of the entire five-hour interview before she decides whether she’ll free Rana on a million dollar bond. Rana’s already had three hearings on the bond issue. The next one is scheduled for Tuesday.
