Remembering Archbishop Job

Orthodox Christians from around the nation are gathering in Chicago today to pay their respects to His Eminence Archbishop Job. The Chicago native presided over the Orthodox Church in America’s Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest.

He passed away unexpectedly last week at the age of 63.

In addition to his spiritual and administrative duties, Archbishop Job was an iconographer and a composer.

In 2006, he called for a probe of church leaders accused of financial misconduct. That led to the forced retirement of several bishops.

Services honoring his memory will take place this morning at Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago.
