Last Call for Voter Registration

Tuesday is the final day for Illinois residents to register to vote for the upcoming primary.

The official “voter registration deadline” for the February 2nd election was about three weeks ago. But Illinois law allows for what’s called “grace period” voting. Residents can still register, and then cast their ballots on the spot, if they act before close of business tomorrow.

Chicago residents can only do so at the city’s election board offices downtown. Suburban Cook County voters have a half-dozen locations to pick from. So far this year, more than 600 people in Cook have taken advantage of the last-minute deal.

For those already-registered, early voting continues for a couple more days, or you could just wait until Election Day, next Tuesday.
