The trial of Calvin Boender is scheduled to begin today. He’s a developer accused of bribing public officials.

Chicago Alderman Isaac Carothers pleaded guilty earlier this year to accepting $40,000 in home repairs from Boender in exchange for his support of a zoning change. Carothers has since resigned his seat in the City Council.

Boender’s attorney has subpoenaed 10 aldermen and Mayor Richard Daley. The developer has pleaded not guilty.
