The Chicago South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade may be cancelled. But Beverly residents plan to keep the party going.

The parade traditionally went down Western Avenue, snaking through the Beverly and Morgan Park communities.

Instead, tomorrow there will be a South Side Irish family fest at the Beverly Arts Center. The day includes a tent with live entertainment, food and an Irish-style “American Idol.”

Mike Nix is executive director of the center.

Yes, a dog contest.

NIX: Dress your dog up to make him look Irish.
